January or April?

Mother Nature can't seem to make up her mind which month it is. As I'm typing this, temperatures in the Chico area are in the mid 60s, and I have the windows open! On January 1st! Oh, speaking of January 1st, Happy New Year! Chico will start off 2012 on a dry and mild note, as there is no rain in the forecast to speak of and temps will average 5-10 degrees above average the next few days. Perhaps we'll get some rain in the spring? Here's Chico's seven day forecast from the National Weather Service:

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 36. Calm wind becoming east southeast around 5 mph.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 60. Southeast wind between 5 and 7 mph.

Monday Night: Patchy fog after 10pm. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 35. East wind between 5 and 7 mph.

Tuesday: Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 62. North northeast wind between 5 and 7 mph.

Tuesday Night: Patchy fog after 10pm. Patchy frost after 10pm. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 36. North northwest wind between 3 and 5 mph.

Wednesday: Patchy fog. Patchy frost. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 61.

Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 38.

Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 60.

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 35.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 58.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 31.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 59.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 33.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 59.
