I love stormy weather

The rain will be returning by tomorrow afternoon in the Chico area, but not before we endure another cold night with lows in the 20s. This morning's low temperature at the Chico Airport was a bone-chilling 19 degrees! What's more unusual were the dewpoints last night and into early this morning- in the single digits! It was quite dry out there. The moisture will quickly return by tomorrow, and moderate to heavy rainfall is expected Thursday, Friday, and again on Sunday as three big storms are lined up and ready to roar into our area. Snow levels may initially start out low- perhaps as low as around 1800 feet Wednesday night before milder Pacific air moves the snow level up to over 4000 feet by later Thursday. Several feet of snow are possible above 5000 feet between Thursday and Sunday. This is all good news as we need this precipitation. The bad news is we may see a lot of precip in a short amount of time, resulting in isolated flooding. Also, winds will be gusting to over 30 and perhaps 40 mph over the next few days. Make sure to tie down any loose objects in your yard. Whew! Lots going on! Here's the detailed forecast for Chico from the National Weather Service:
