cold weather followed by wet and windy weather

There is a Hard Freeze Watch in effect for tomorrow night into early Tuesday for the Sacramento Valley, including Chico. Low temperatures early Tuesday morning may dip into the mid 20s. Cover up any tender vegetation and bring the potted plants in. Turn a drip on faucets and make sure your pets are indoors. By Wednesday, a series of wet and windy storms are poised to march through our area. The wet weather may last into early next week. This is good news as we are seriously behind on rainfall and snowfall. Here is the detailed forecast for Chico from the National Weather Service:

Tonight: Patchy frost after 4am. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 28. North northwest wind between 15 and 20 mph.

M.L.King Day: Patchy frost before 10am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 47. North northwest wind between 8 and 10 mph.

Monday Night: Widespread frost after 10pm. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 23. Northeast wind at 6 mph becoming south southeast.

Tuesday: Widespread frost before 10am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 47. Calm wind becoming south southeast around 6 mph.

Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 30. East southeast wind around 8 mph.

Wednesday: Showers likely. Cloudy, with a high near 46. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

Wednesday Night: Rain. Low around 39. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
