showery through this weekend

What is up with this weather? I thought it was going to be nice and dry through the entire Memorial Day weekend. However, that was not the case, with thunderstorms dropping hail on Saturday evening, and cloudy and windy conditions yesterday. Today has been just plain dreary, with off and on rain showers and temps stuck in the 50s. Yuck! Unfortunately, the chance for showers and/ or thunderstorms persists through most of this week and into this weekend. High temperatures are expected to stay 15 to 20 degrees below average every day this week, only rebounding to near average by the middle of next week (average is around 85 degrees for the beginning of June). Perhaps we won't have a summer this year. Here are the wet details for Chico from the National Weather Service:

Tonight: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 48. South southeast wind between 8 and 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Wednesday: Showers likely, with thunderstorms also possible after 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 59. South southeast wind between 7 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Wednesday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 46. North northwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Thursday: A 20 percent chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 70. Light and variable wind.

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 49.

thankfully calmer weather

After yesterday's intense weather, things should calm down over the next several days. Other than a slight chance of showers the next 24 hours, the weather should remain dry and mild the next seven days. Abnormally cool air has filtered into our area, keeping high temperatures 8-10 degrees cooler than where we should be this time of year. But, if you have outdoor plans this weekend, enjoy, as the weather will cooperate. Keep in mind, however, that the streams and rivers are running high and fast right now due to snowmelt. Water temps are hovering in the upper 40s to mid 50s, so hypothermia can set in fast if you're not careful. Bottom line- don't swim in the rivers and streams this weekend (it'll be too chilly for that, anyway), and wear a life jacket if boating. I'll be in the woods camping this weekend, and will return on Monday to update my blog. Enjoy your Memorial Day weekend, and be careful out there! Here's the seven day forecast for Chico from the National Weather Service:

Tonight: A 20 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 49. South southeast wind between 7 and 9 mph. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Friday: A 20 percent chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 72. Southeast wind around 10 mph. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 48. Calm wind becoming northwest between 5 and 8 mph.

Saturday: A 20 percent chance of showers. Mostly sunny, with a high near 68. Northwest wind 5 to 8 mph becoming south southeast.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 44.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 74.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 48.

Memorial Day: Mostly sunny, with a high near 73.

Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 49.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 72.

Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 49.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 72.

Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 49.

Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 75.

More on yesterday's severe weather in Butte County

From the Chico Enterprise Record:

Tornadoes touched down in Ord Bend and Durham areas Wednesday evening, and later near Butte College. Orchards in Durham saw trees tumble, and power lines and tree limbs caused traffic snarls and concern throughout the area.
Heavy hail that came with the thunderstorm covered some areas like snow. Storm drains and ditches overflowed or were clogged, flooding roadways and parking lots.

Warnings first went out from the National Weather Service about 5 p.m., based on readings of Doppler radar, with the bad weather concentrated in Willows and moving to the northeast.

A tornado was reported near the ground five miles east of Ord Bend by about 5:30, with another spotted three miles south of Ord Bend, according to the Weather Service.

Glenn County Sheriff Larry Jones reported at 5:35 p.m. that five or six funnel clouds had been sighted in Glenn County. According to witnesses, at least one touched down on Highway 45 near Ord Bend.

Jones said heavy hail on Interstate 5 near Willows had created a traffic hazard, with several vehicles reportedly sliding off the
highway.
The storm continued east at between 10-15 mph. Tornado touchdowns were reported in Durham, with damage in the Hanlon Road and Stanford Lane areas.

Bob Paddock, who lives in the 2300 block of Hanlon Road, lost 22 acres of almonds, a fence, and had a barn and shed damaged.

He was home with his two children and his wife when she noticed the sky swirling. They'd heard the tornado warning a half-hour earlier.

He retrieved a dog from a kennel, and the family and dog took shelter in a closet in a newly-built home on the ranch.

He said the storm sounded like a train, and estimated it lasted two or three minutes.

Afterward, aluminum roofing from the barn could be seen wrapped around a telephone pole. Trees in the destroyed orchard were not blown over, but rather yanked out of the ground.

Next door, a tree had blown onto a house.

As that was happening, the sky blackened in south Chico, then hail pelted down intensely, along with rain, for about an hour.

By 6:30 p.m., the skies cleared and a double rainbow gave the signal that the storm had passed.

The storm continued east toward Butte College, where the tornado warning by the National Weather Service continued until 7:30 p.m. Reports of funnel clouds and tornados were reported in the Butte College/Table Mountain area.

As the storm moved into the foothills it weakened and dissipated.

Tornadoes reported to cause minor damage

From the Chico Enterprise Record:

ORD BEND — Chico, Durham, Dayton and especially Ord Bend were on alert for tornadoes Wednesday evening as a cold storm passed through, whipping up wind and pelting the area with pea-sized hail.
The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning shortly after 5 p.m. based on readings of Doppler radar.

A tornado was reported near the ground five miles east of Ord Bend at about 5:30, with another spotted three miles south of Ord Bend, according to the Weather Service. Another touched down south of Durham.

For about an hour in south Chico the sky darkened, then hail pelted down intensely, covering the sidewalks in some areas like snow.

Isolated flooding took place, as storm ditches couldn't handle the rain or were clogged. Flooding was reported along Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway and Forest Avenue.

Glenn County Sheriff Larry Jones reported at 5:35 p.m. that five or six funnel clouds had been sighted in Glenn County. According to witnesses, at least one touched down on Highway 45 near Ord Bend. Orchards reportedly were damaged.

Jones said heavy hail on Interstate 5 near Willows created a traffic hazard, with several vehicles reportedly sliding off the highway.

The storm headed east at between 10-15 miles per hour.

wet and breezy

It has not been a pretty day in Chico today. Temperatures have been stuck in the 50s all day, nearly three-quarters of an inch of rain has fallen since yesterday evening, and the winds have been brisk from the southeast around 15 to 20 mph. This is a storm we would experience in February or March, but not in May. Chico should see high temps around 82 degrees with plenty of sunshine this time of year. Fortunately, we should see improving conditions over the next 24 hours as this massive low pressure system slowly trudges to the east. Dry, sunny conditions will be the rule for Thursday and Friday, while a slight chance of showers (along with partly sunny skies) are expected for both Saturday and Sunday. Dry weather returns for the beginning of next week. High temperatures should range from the lower 70s to around 80. Here are the details for Chico from the National Weather Service:

Tonight: Showers. Low around 45. South southeast wind 6 to 14 mph becoming east northeast. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Wednesday: A 20 percent chance of showers before 11am. Partly sunny, with a high near 71. Calm wind becoming west northwest around 6 mph.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 48. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 79. North northwest wind between 6 and 8 mph.

Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 49.

unsettled for first part of the work week

Today was a weird day weatherwise. In Chico, the high temperature only made it to 56 degrees- 25 degrees below average! Nearly a half an inch of rain fell, bringing the rainy season average up to just over 28 inches. Chico normally sees just over 26 inches in a rain year, which runs from July 1st until June 30th. Showers will hang out for a couple of more days, as another disturbance rolls in off the Pacific Ocean. There shouldn't be any thunderstorms with this next system, though, so expect plain old showers and chilly temperatures (relatively speaking) through Tuesday. We'll finally begin to see the sun by Wednesday, and the rest of the week into the weekend looks very nice. Here's the seven day forecast for Chico from the National Weather Service:

Tonight: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly before 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 44. Southeast wind between 7 and 14 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Monday: Showers likely, mainly after 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 63. Southeast wind between 3 and 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Monday Night: Showers. Low around 44. Southeast wind between 7 and 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Tuesday: Showers. High near 64. South southeast wind between 7 and 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Tuesday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 46. South southeast wind between 5 and 9 mph.

wet and breezy Sunday; back to normal later this week

The risk of thunderstorms is still in the forecast today for the Sacramento Valley, but any widespread severe weather is not expected. Still, an isolated severe thunderstorm cell could pop up later this afternoon, producing gusty winds and small hail. Be prepared to seek shelter if that happens. Otherwise, expect showers this morning, along with gusty winds to nearly 30 mph. The sun may break out through the clouds later this morning or early this afternoon. That will further destabilize the atmosphere, causing warm air at the surface (heated by the sun, of course) to rise into the colder, unstable air aloft. This usually creates showers and thunderstorms. Showers persist into the early part of the work week, but we will be back in the sun and warmer temps by the middle and latter part of the week. Here are the details for Chico from the National Weather Service:

Today: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce small hail. High near 60. South southeast wind between 9 and 14 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tonight: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 43. South wind 7 to 14 mph becoming east. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Monday: A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 62. North northeast wind at 7 mph becoming southwest. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Monday Night: Showers likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 45. East southeast wind between 7 and 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Tuesday: Showers likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 62. East wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Tuesday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 46.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 49.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 79.

Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 49.

severe weather for Chico on Sunday?

That's what the National Weather Service is forecasting:

AN UNUSUALLY COLD STORM IS FORECAST TO IMPACT THE INTERIOR VALLEY
AND FOOTHILLS OF NORTHERN CALIFORNIA ON SUNDAY. USUALLY THESE COLD
STORMS OCCUR DURING THE LATE WINTER AND EARLY SPRING MONTHS...
ESPECIALLY FEBRUARY THROUGH APRIL...RESULTING IN VALLEY
THUNDERSTORMS THAT ARE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING HAIL AND DAMAGING
WINDS.

STRONG THUNDERSTORMS MAY DEVELOP ON SUNDAY ROUGHLY FROM THE
SACRAMENTO AREA...NORTHWARD INTO THE CENTRAL SACRAMENTO VALLEY.
A FAVORABLE AREA FOR STRONG THUNDERSTORMS TO DEVELOP IS MAINLY
NEAR OR JUST WEST OF INTERSTATE 5 AND EASTWARD INTO THE SIERRA
NEVADA FOOTHILLS TOWARDS HIGHWAYS 65...99 AND 70.

AT TIMES...THUNDERSTORMS CAN MOVE INTO OR DEVELOP OVER THE SIERRA
NEVADA FOOTHILLS AND COMMONLY PRODUCE SMALL HAIL IN THIS TYPE OF
WEATHER PATTERN.

Tomorrow's forecast for Chico and the Sacramento Valley is a 90% chance of thunderstorms, with the possibility of severe thunderstorms producing damaging winds and hail. Stay tuned for more on this evolving weather situation.

Latest on stormy Sunday

Here's the latest update on tomorrow's potentially stormy weather from the National Weather Service:

A VERY COLD AND UNSTABLE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM MAY BRING STRONG
THUNDERSTORMS TO THE VALLEYS SUNDAY. THUNDERSTORMS MAY CONTAIN
HAIL...BRIEF HEAVY RAIN...FREQUENT LIGHTNING AND STRONG GUSTY
WINDS. TEMPERATURES ABOUT 15 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL CAN BE EXPECTED.
IN THE FOOTHILLS SNOW LEVELS MAY DROP BETWEEN 2500 TO 3000 FEET
SUNDAY. THUNDERSTORMS COULD CAUSE "SOFT HAIL" OR SNOW PELLETS TO
ACCUMULATE ON AREA ROADWAYS. UP TO AN INCH OR TWO OF SNOW MAY
ACCUMULATE NEAR 3000 FEET BY SUNDAY AFTERNOON.

BE PREPARED FOR STORMY WEATHER SUNDAY. MONITOR THE WEATHER AS YOU
MAKE YOUR WEEKEND PLANS. WATCH FOR HEAVY RAIN OR HAIL ON AREA
ROADWAYS AND TAKE SHELTER IF A STRONG THUNDERSTORM APPROACHES.

unusually stormy weather for this weekend

It's hard to believe right now, with sunny skies and temps in the upper 70s and lower 80s across the region, but there is a Winter Storm Watch in effect between Sunday morning and Sunday evening for the Sierra Nevada mountains above 5000 feet. Up to 14 inches of snow can be expected above 7000 feet, while 8 inches is predicted down to 5000 feet. In the valley, including Chico, cold core thunderstorms will be prevalent on Sunday, producing small hail, lightning, and heavy rain. High temperatures this weekend will be 10 to 20 degrees below what they are currently. A large and cold low pressure system dropping south from the Gulf of Alaska is responsible for this abrupt change in the weather. At least Saturday should be a decent day! Here are the specifics from the National Weather Service:

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 50. South southeast wind between 11 and 14 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph.

Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 69. South southeast wind between 8 and 16 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.

Saturday Night: Showers likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 45. South wind between 11 and 18 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Sunday: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. High near 61. South southeast wind between 13 and 16 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Sunday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly before 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 41. Southeast wind between 8 and 11 mph.

Monday: A 20 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 62.

Monday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 45.

Tuesday: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 64.

Tuesday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 47.

Wednesday: A slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 72.

Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 49.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 80.

Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 54.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 80.

nice weather the rest of the week; possible showers for the weekend

A rather odd thing happened late Sunday night/ early Monday morning, and I completely missed it: A thunderstorm barreled through Chico and Butte County. It happened between 11 pm Sunday and just after midnight early Monday. I was asleep at the time, and some of my coworkers were amazed I slept through all of the racket. Apparently there was intense lightning and window-rattling thunder, along with heavy rain. Chico received .55 of an inch from this one thunderstorm. It's very unusual to experience thunderstorms in Northern California; it's even more rare to have it happen at night. Apparently there was enough moisture at the surface and instability aloft to create this very isolated thunderstorm. In contrast, today has been gorgeous, with sunny skies and a current temperature of 78 degrees. The rest of this work week should be equally nice, but the weekend looks a bit iffy. A strong trough of low pressure looks to set up shop over Northern California and provide us with below normal temperatures and showery conditions. This looks a bit iffy right now, and we may not receive any rain. Keep checking back for updates. For now, here's what the National Weather Service is saying for Chico the next seven days:

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 52. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming east southeast.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 79. South wind between 6 and 16 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 50. South southeast wind 13 to 16 mph decreasing to between 5 and 8 mph. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 78. South wind between 3 and 5 mph.

Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 50.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 77.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 50.

Saturday: A slight chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 70.

Saturday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 47.

Sunday: A chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 61.

Sunday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 44.

Monday: A slight chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 67.

Goldilocks weather

I titled my blog entry "Goldilocks weather" because after today the weather won't be too warm or too cold, but just right. The weather will be sunny and mild this week, with temperatures in the 70s and lower 80s from tomorrow through the end of the week. In the meantime, expect chilly weather, with showers a possibility this afternoon and temps not getting out of the lower 60s for highs. Weird weather- Chico goes from highs in the lower 90s on Thursday to the lower 60s today. Mother Nature can't seem to make up her mind! Well, hopefully everyone will have a nice Mother's Day today, despite the weather. Here is the detailed Chico forecast from the National Weather Service:

This Afternoon: Scattered showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 66. South wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 44. South wind 5 to 9 mph becoming north.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 71. North wind between 5 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.

Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 47. North northwest wind between 6 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 79. North northwest wind between 6 and 9 mph.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 54.

cooler, showery weather for Mother's Day

From the National Weather Service:

A LOW PRESSURE AREA OFF THE COAST OF BRITISH COLUMBIA WILL DEEPEN
OVER THE REGION THIS WEEKEND. THIS WILL BRING COLDER TEMPERATURES
AND SHOWERS TO THE REGION. EXPECT COOLING THROUGH THE WEEKEND WITH
VALLEY DAYTIME HIGHS ONLY REACHING THE UPPER 60S TO LOWER 70S WHILE
MOUNTAIN TEMPERATURES ONLY WARMING INTO THE 40S TO MID 50S FOR SUNDAY.

SOME SHOWERS MAY START TO DEVELOP SATURDAY AFTERNOON OVER THE
NORTHERN MOUNTAINS AND SATURDAY NIGHT OVER THE SACRAMENTO VALLEY
...FOOTHILLS AND MOUNTAINS. THE BEST CHANCES OF SHOWERS WILL OCCUR
DURING MOTHERS DAY. AS UNSTABLE AIR MOVES OVER THE REGION SUNDAY
AFTERNOON THE POTENTIAL FOR VALLEY SHOWERS WILL INCREASE ALONG
WITH ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS. SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE
SUNDAY NIGHT AND DIMINISH MONDAY EXCEPT IN WESTERN PLUMAS
COUNTY...LASSEN PARK AREA...AND THE WEST SLOPE OF THE NORTHERN
SIERRA NEVADA. PRECIPITATION AMOUNTS ARE EXPECTED TO GENERALLY BE
LESS THAN A TENTH OF AN INCH IN THE VALLEY AND LESS THAN HALF AN
INCH IN THE MOUNTAINS.

SNOW LEVELS ARE EXPECTED TO LOWER ON SUNDAY TO BETWEEN 4500 FEET
OVER THE NORTH TO AROUND 5500 FEET FOR THE WESTERN SLOPES OF THE
SIERRA NEVADA. SNOW LEVELS WILL LOWER FURTHER SUNDAY NIGHT. SEVERAL
INCHES OF SNOW ARE POSSIBLE WITH THIS SYSTEM WITH THE POTENTIAL TO
CAUSE SOME TRAVEL PROBLEMS OVER THE MOUNTAIN PASSES.

IN ADDITION...AREA RIVERS AND STREAMS WILL BE RUNNING VERY COLD AND VERY
FAST FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL WEEKS. EVERYONE GOING INTO THE WATER
SHOULD WEAR A LIFE VEST OR PERSONAL FLOTATION DEVICE. CHILDREN
THAT ARE EVEN JUST WADING ALONG A WATERWAY SHOULD WEAR A LIFE
VEST. EVEN THE STRONGEST SWIMMERS CAN SUFFER FROM HYPOTHERMIA.

PERSONS TRAVELING TO THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF THE MOUNTAINS OR
PLANNING OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES THIS WEEKEND SHOULD MONITOR THE
FORECAST AND CHECK FOR THE LATEST UPDATES FROM YOUR NATIONAL
WEATHER SERVICE OR LOCAL MEDIA OUTLETS.

warm and windy

What is up with all this wind? It has been windy since last Friday, with every day since then recording wind speeds in Chico of over 20 mph! It has been warm, as well, but only a couple of degrees above average, with today's high temperature so far at 82 degrees. It's going to get a whole lot warmer the next few days- lower 90s are expected tomorrow and Thursday! Fortunately, it looks sunny but cooler for this weekend, perfect for an art gallery hop! The Chico Visual Arts Alliance (or CHIVAA), is hosting an art exhibit at the funky, Mediterranean-style Matador Motel on the Esplanade this Friday and Saturday. Artwork will be exhibited under the tents and palm trees in the motel's courtyard, as well as in individual motel rooms. The artwork will highlight Mexican-American artists primarily, timed with Cinco de Mayo. Interestingly, Cinco de Mayo is a bigger holiday here north of the border than in some parts of Mexico! Any excuse for a party, I guess. Anyway, here is the latest forecast for Chico from the National Weather Service:

near 90 degrees by Wednesday?

Perhaps. The National Weather Service is predicting a strong high pressure system will build over California this week, raising temperatures and calming the gusty northwesterly winds we've been experiencing the past three days. The winds weren't quite as gusty today as they were yesterday and Friday. Winds those two days were clocked at over 30 mph! However, it has been a gorgeous weekend despite the winds. Yesterday's high temperature In Chico was 74 degrees, and today we broke 80 degrees for the first time in over a month. The forecast looks to continue this warming trend, with mid to upper 80s expected by the middle of the week. A couple of spots may even reach 90 degrees. This mini heat wave is not expected to last, as highs by this weekend dip back into the 70s. Still, beautiful weather is supposed to continue, and we deserve it after a wet and chilly early spring! Here is the detailed seven day forecast for Chico from the NWS:

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 51. East southeast wind between 3 and 8 mph.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 82. Light wind becoming south between 10 and 13 mph.
