After yesterday's intense weather, things should calm down over the next several days. Other than a slight chance of showers the next 24 hours, the weather should remain dry and mild the next seven days. Abnormally cool air has filtered into our area, keeping high temperatures 8-10 degrees cooler than where we should be this time of year. But, if you have outdoor plans this weekend, enjoy, as the weather will cooperate. Keep in mind, however, that the streams and rivers are running high and fast right now due to snowmelt. Water temps are hovering in the upper 40s to mid 50s, so hypothermia can set in fast if you're not careful. Bottom line- don't swim in the rivers and streams this weekend (it'll be too chilly for that, anyway), and wear a life jacket if boating. I'll be in the woods camping this weekend, and will return on Monday to update my blog. Enjoy your Memorial Day weekend, and be careful out there!
