Like I've said in my previous 3 or 4 posts, take an umbrella with you if you plan on going out tonight for New Year's celebrations. There's a good chance it will rain. I was looking at our fine weekly alternative newspaper, the Chico News and Review (I have a link on my main page on the right-hand side), and there is a dearth of New Year's Eve celebrations around here! I know there aren't a lot of people who live in Butte County (the county in which Chico is located and which serves as Chico's defined metropolitan area), but I can count on one hand the number of celebrations happening tonight. Perhaps it's better to stay home and have your own celebration. That's what my husband and I plan to do- make homemade pizza and play Scrabble. Okay, that doesn't sound very exciting, but we have fun doing it. And isn't that what matters? Anyway, the main New Year's Eve events happening in our area tonight are at the Sierra Nevada brewery, the two casinos in Oroville, and a few community events at local churches and community centers.
