Now the weather forecasters are saying this upcoming week will be unsettled, not quiet. A fairly potent storm will move through Tuesday night into early Wednesday, giving the valley anywhere from a quarter of an inch to three quarters of an inch of rain. Snow levels will be between 3500 to 4500 feet. They're not saying at this time how much snow will fall; that'll happen as we get closer to the actual timeframe of the storm. Other, weaker storms will move through our region into the latter part of the week. Accuweather is still saying we will see a good chance of rain for Chico the first week of 2010. We'll see if that forecast holds over the next several days. Chico did get some rain early this morning, with about .27 of an inch falling. It was overcast most of the day, with temps barely getting out of the 40s. Fog began to roll in, especially over the foothills, this evening. There may be some patchy fog in spots during the morning commute tomorrow, so be careful. Here's the NWS Chico forecast for the next seven days:

Tuesday: A 30 percent chance of rain, mainly after 10am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 49. Calm wind becoming south between 4 and 7 mph.
Tuesday Night: Rain likely. Cloudy, with a low around 39. Southeast wind between 8 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
Wednesday: A 40 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 50.
Wednesday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 33.
Thursday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 50.
