Chico got some rain

Chico did see some rain yesterday, measuring just under a quarter of an inch. Yesterday's high temperature was 50 degrees. The showery activity will persist today in the valley and foothills, while there is a Winter Weather Advisory in the Sierra Nevada mountains to the east of Chico. As much as 6" of snow may fall in elevations above 4000' today and tonight. Be careful if traveling in the mountains over the next 24 hours. Looking ahead, it looks like Christmas will be lovely, with sunny skies and seasonable temps. Here's the seven day Chico forecast from the National Weather Service:

Today: Showers, mainly before 4pm. High near 54. South southeast wind between 7 and 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%.

Tonight: A 50 percent chance of showers before 10pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 35. South wind around 10 mph becoming north northwest.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 51. North northwest wind between 7 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.

Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 29. North northwest wind between 7 and 10 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 52. North northwest wind between 7 and 9 mph.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 30.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 53.

Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 34.

Christmas Day: Sunny, with a high near 53.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 33.

Saturday: A slight chance of rain. Partly cloudy, with a high near 52.

Saturday Night: A slight chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 36.

Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 49.
