showers for Monday?

There may be a chance of showers in the forecast for Monday as a cold front sweeps through our region. This cold front will also bring a brief reprieve from the heat. Yesterday's high in Chico was 95 degrees, and today should be a few degrees hotter (I was wrong about yesterday being the hottest day of the week- sorry!). This weekend looks warm, with tomorrow's high in the low 90s and Sunday's high dipping into the upper 80s. Monday through Wednesday look nice (other than the showers on Monday-personally I don't think it will happen), with temps in the 70s to around 80 degrees. Here is Chico's updated seven day forecast from the National Weather Service: Today: Sunny and hot, with a high near 97. Calm wind becoming south southwest around 5 mph. Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 63. North northeast wind around 6 mph becoming calm. Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 93. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph. Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 59. Southeast wind between 3 and 6 mph. Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 88. South wind between 6 and 8 mph. Sunday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers after 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 58. Monday: A 40 percent chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 73. Monday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 49. Tuesday: A slight chance of showers. Mostly sunny, with a high near 74. Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 50. Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 81. Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 53. Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 85.
