Record-breaking daily rainfall rates have been measured today across Northern California due to this potent Pacific storm. So far in Chico, the unofficial rainfall tally is .87 inches as of 4 pm today. We normally see just over an inch of precipitation on average for the entire month of June! The high temperature in Chico was reached just after midnight this morning, when it was 70 degrees. The temperature fell throughout the day to 60 degrees until mid-afternoon, when the mercury climbed to 62 degrees (which is the current temperature). Showers will persist tonight and into the day tomorrow before tapering off late tomorrow afternoon. The sunshine returns for Thursday along with the heat as temps rapidly rise to above the century mark by this weekend. Forecast high temps for the Fourth will hover around 102-105 degrees!
