hot for the first week of summer

Today was sunny but warm, with gusty northwesterly winds to 25 mph and a high temperature of 92 degrees. It looks like we're going to see triple digit heat at least two days out of this week as high pressure builds over the West Coast. It also looks like the heat won't last very long, as we'll return to the upper 80s by next weekend. Don't forget, the first day of summer is Tuesday! Here's the detailed seven day forecast for Chico from the National Weather Service:

Tonight: Clear, with a low around 60. North northwest wind between 8 and 17 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.

Monday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 98. Northwest wind between 7 and 10 mph.

Monday Night: Clear, with a low around 62. Light north wind.

Tuesday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 102. West northwest wind at 5 mph becoming south.

Tuesday Night: Clear, with a low around 65. East southeast wind between 3 and 6 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 101.

Wednesday Night: Clear, with a low around 65.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 92.

Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 62.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 91.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 62.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 89.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 62.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 88.
