hot weather

Yesterday's high temperature in Chico was 95 degrees; today's high (so far) is 96 degrees (aided by gusty downsloping winds from the northwest). Can you say "hot?" In fact, today is now the hottest day of the year for Chico. But wait, it's going to get hotter. Not right away; in fact, this weekend looks fairly nice, with sunny skies and seasonable temps in the mid 80s. However, by Tuesday of next week (coincidentally, the first day of summer), high temps will reach the century mark. That's right- we could see our first 100 degree day of the year. So, if you thought yesterday and today were hot, just wait! Low temps tonight through the weekend will be in the mid 50s to around 60 degrees. Lows will warm up into the upper 60s to lower 70s by early next week. Warm and sultry at night- hot and stifling during the day. Summer must be here!
