potentially damaging wind storm on Sunday?

A powerful storm out over the Northern Pacific Ocean currently has its eyes set on central California. The storm should reach the central California coast on Sunday, carrying with it a very tight pressure gradient. What that translates to is a very high wind event for the Sacramento and San Joaquin valleys through the Delta region east of San Francisco. It looks like the main wind event will occur south of Chico, with gusts to nearly 70 mph from Marysville to Stockton. However, we here in Chico could see wind gusts to 45 mph. With all of the recent rains we've had, the ground is super saturated. Trees could easily be uprooted with sustained winds of 25 mph and gusts to nearly 50 mph. Prepare now for this storm, as there could be property damage and power outages. Stock up on non-perishable foods and candles, and make sure you have batteries for the flashlights. Heavy rain is also possible on Sunday with this storm, so keep an eye on small creeks if you live near one. Major widespread flooding is not anticipated, however, as this storm will be a fairly quick mover. Here's the detailed forecast for Chico from the National Weather Service:
