another wet and windy weekend

There is a Wind Advisory in effect until 7 pm this evening for the central Sacramento Valley (including Chico) for winds gusting to 40 mph. There will be a small break tonight before another wet and breezy storm barrels through our area tomorrow. Showers will linger into Sunday before we get a much needed break beginning Monday and lasting through the end of next week. Sunny skies and highs in the mid 60s to around 70 will be the rule for next work week. Can't wait! Here's the forecast for Chico from the National Weather Service:

Late Afternoon: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. High near 55. Breezy, with a south southeast wind around 22 mph, with gusts as high as 34 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

Tonight: Rain and possibly a thunderstorm. Low around 46. South southeast wind between 13 and 21 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

Saturday: Rain. High near 55. Breezy, with a south southeast wind between 17 and 23 mph, with gusts as high as 34 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%.

Saturday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 43. South southeast wind between 7 and 13 mph.

Sunday: A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 57. South southeast wind between 8 and 14 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph.

Sunday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 44.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 63.

Monday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 46.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 66.
