return to spring- like weather

After a hot weekend, with high temperatures in the lower 90s in Chico both Saturday and Sunday, we have had much cooler weather today. High temps in the area have topped out in the upper 70s/ lower 80s, a good 10-15 degrees cooler than this past weekend. It will continue to get cooler as the Delta Breeze kicks in later tonight and tomorrow. That means southerly winds will transport cooler marine air up north from the Sacramento River Delta. A fairly weak storm system will move through Wednesday, bringing showers and even cooler temps. Showers linger into Thursday before clearing out by Friday. Highs this coming weekend will be warm- in the mid 80s- but not as hot as this past weekend. Here is Chico's seven day forecast from the National Weather Service: Tonight: A slight chance of drizzle after 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 57. South southeast wind between 8 and 13 mph.
