Hot in April

It was quite warm (some may say even downright hot) yesterday in Chico, as the high temperature at the airport reached 88 degrees. At the Chico State Farm on the south side of town, the temperature hit 91 degrees. Normal highs for late April are in the mid 70s. Expect another hot day today, with forecast highs in the lower 90s. What happened to spring? Not to worry; spring weather returns next week as highs cool down into the 70s for highs by the middle of next week. There's even a chance for rain next Thursday. In the meantime, for those who love the hot weather, enjoy this weekend! The California Nut Festival is happening today at Patrick Ranch, located in Durham, south of Chico. If attending, wear light-colored and loose-fitting clothing, and have fun this weekend! Here's Chico's seven day forecast from the National Weather Service: Today: Sunny, with a high near 91.
