will it be stormy or not?

The National Weather Service day-by-day forecast seems to suggest this storm won't really be all that significant, as only a 60% chance of showers are in Tuesday night's forecast. However, the Special Weather Statements on the NWS Sacramento home page state a fairly potent storm will affect the Northstate Tuesday night and into Wednesday with moderate to heavy rain and wind gusts to 40 mph. Which forecast will win? Personally, I'm ready for some stormy weather, so I favor the latter forecast. To be honest, it's still too early to tell, as this potential storm is still way out in the Pacific. As we get closer to the actual (or perceived) event, the details will become more clear. For now, enjoy the nice weather this weekend! Today's high temperature in Chico at the airport was just 73 degrees- 13 degrees below average. The day started out partly sunny, then quickly turned overcast by mid-morning. By early afternoon, the sun broke through the clouds, warming the temperature into the 70s. Skies should clear out tonight and the winds will slacken, and tomorrow is expected to be mostly sunny. Winds will pick up again tomorrow from the south ahead of the next weak storm expected to affect our weather on Monday. Here is the detailed seven day forecast for Chico from the NWS (again, downplaying the big storm):
