very warm today

So much for a nice and mild Saturday. The high temperature today in Chico was 86 degrees, seven degrees above the normal of 79 degrees. It was also a bit muggy, with dewpoints hovering around 60 degrees this afternoon. There is a weak disturbance moving through Northern California currently, bringing a very slight chance of showers to the mountains the next 24 hours. This same system has also raised the humidity- hence the muggy conditions today. Temperatures will continue to be warm, in the upper 70s/ lower 80s the next few days, with clear nights and sunny days. The fall colors continue to advance in Chico, with the pistache trees in particular appearing luminous. Hopefully the cooler weather in the coming weeks will further encourage the deciduous trees to show off their true colors. For now, enjoy the warm (but not hot, at least) weather!
