cool down on the way

Today was another warm one in Chico, with a high temperature of 83 degrees. Today should be the last day above 80 degrees for awhile (and hopefully for the rest of the year) as a cold front sweeps through tomorrow. Winds will shift to the north/ northeast late tomorrow/ early Tuesday, ushering much drier and cooler air. Lows by Wednesday morning may dip into the mid 40s. That's where we should be this time of year for low temperatures, but we haven't yet seen temps that cold this season. Highs will stay in the lower to mid 70s for much of this week- again, where we should be, but cooler than it has been in awhile. Here are the specifics from the National Weather Service:

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 52. South wind at 6 mph becoming northeast.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 76. Light and variable wind.
