The past few days have been spectacular in Chico, with yesterday's high temperature of 70 degrees, and today's high so far of 76 degrees. The warm temperatures today are thanks to northwest winds that come down off the mountains to our north, heating and compressing as they move down the valley. In contrast, southerly winds are cool, because they come in off the Pacific Ocean and travel up the valley from the Delta. The winds help to pick up the cooler marine air and transport it northward into Chico. Anyway, there are some changes coming. There is a chance of rain tomorrow night, along with cooler temperatures for the end of the week. By early next week, another storm will give us more chances of rain. It's too soon to know how strong the storm will be, but it looks like, for now, some rain is in the forecast. Here's the seven days forecast for Chico from the National Weather Service:
