still below normal for precipitation

Chico received .80" from this morning's storm, which brings our seasonal total to date to 11.67". We should be at about 17 inches to this point in the rainy season (which runs from July 1st through June 30th). The high temperature so far today in Chico has been 55 degrees, six degrees below the average for the date. High temps will remain below average for the most part the next seven days. It will be mainly dry during this time, with the exception of this upcoming weekend. Only a slight chance of rain is expected then, so don't cancel any outdoor plans just yet. However, it will be slightly chilly, so plan accordingly. Again, no big storms are on the horizon. It definitely has been a calm winter so far. Here's Chico's seven day forecast from the National Weather Service:

Tonight: Isolated showers before 10pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 36. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 58. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

Tuesday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers after 10pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 37. Calm wind becoming north northwest between 5 and 8 mph.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 58. North northwest wind around 8 mph.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 35.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 62.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 38.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 60.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 41.

Saturday: A slight chance of rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 56.
