It has been a blustery and cool day in Chico today, with gusty northwesterly winds up to 25 mph and temperatures stuck in the mid to upper 50s this afternoon. It will stay below average temperature- wise through the middle of next week, and we may see a decent chance of rain showers in the valley Tuesday night through Thursday. Significant snow is also possible for the Sierra Nevada, with snow levels by Wednesday down to 3000 feet. It's too soon to know exactly how much snow will fall, but expect travel difficulties if you're driving through the Sierra Tuesday through Wednesday. A weak and quick- moving system will swing through late tomorrow night and into Monday, bringing a slight chance of showers to the valley. Temperatures should warm back to around average by Friday and Saturday as sunny weather takes charge. Here's the detailed seven day forecast for Chico from the National Weather Service:
