It was rather wet and breezy in Chico today, with southerly winds gusting up to 35 mph and total precipitation totaling .35". After a brief lull this evening, another storm will affect us tomorrow, and there is a Wind Advisory in effect tomorrow from 6 am until 6 pm. Winds will be sustained from the south at 20 to 30 mph, with gusts from 35 to 40 mph. Rain and showers will stay in the forecast through the end of the week, and possibly into the weekend. There will be lowering snow levels in the Sierra Nevada foothills around Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Snow levels could drop below 2000', so be aware if you live in the foothills. If you have plans to travel to the mountains, pack a winter survival kit, as weather conditions will be treacherous the next few days. Up to six feet of snow is possible above 6000' through Thursday.
