rainy weekend ahead?

The forecast models indicate we may see some rain this weekend, along with continued cool weather. Yesterday's high in Chico was 60 degrees, about eight degrees below the average for the date. So far today we've seen temps in the 50s, after a cold morning low of 32 degrees. We will see a brief warm-up to average temperatures by Thursday before a weak storm system moves in Thursday night. A stronger storm may affect our region Saturday night and into Sunday. However, computer models show the bulk of the moisture sliding down into Southern California. We will have to wait and see how much our area will be impacted by the weekend storm. For now, here's the latest forecast for Chico from the National Weather Service:

Tonight: Patchy fog after 10pm. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 38. Calm wind.

Wednesday: Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 62. Light northwest wind.

Wednesday Night: Patchy fog after 10pm. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 40. Light north northeast wind.

Thursday: Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 66. Light and variable wind.

Thursday Night: A 20 percent chance of rain after 10pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 43.

Veterans Day: A 40 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 60.

Friday Night: A slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 40.

Saturday: A slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 61.

Saturday Night: A chance of rain. Cloudy, with a low around 43.

Sunday: A chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 59.

Sunday Night: A chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 40.

Monday: A slight chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 59.
