unexpected showers

Chico received some unexpected shower activity this morning, with .08" falling in the rain bucket. A weak upper level low pressure is moving north over central and northern California this morning, bringing with it some light to moderate rain. The past few days have been pleasantly fall-like (well, it IS fall, after all), with highs in the 70s and lower 80s. Temps should remain in the 70s through Friday, with a chance of widely scattered thundershowers today and this evening. It'll be partly sunny tomorrow with a slight chance of a shower or two, then the sunshine returns for Friday. There will be a brief warm up this weekend, as high pressure and bright sunshine will push temps into the mid and upper 80s. However, by early next week temps will be knocked down a bit into the low 80s. All in all, not a bad forecast. The leaves on the trees in Chico should be transforming into their fall colors over the next few weeks. I'll try to get some good pics and post them onto my blog.
