Well, it turns out we here in Chico and the surrounding area won't be affected very much by this big storm in the Pacific Ocean. There won't be much wind or rain, just some nuisance showers that'll probably accumulate to about half an inch between tomorrow and Sunday. So, no need to batten down the hatches. Today has been breezy in Chico, with winds around 15 mph and gusts close to 20 mph at times. It has been hazy, slightly smoky (winds are out of the south, so I assume there are some fires in that direction), and quite cool today. Temperatures have been stuck in the 60s all day. It's a nice change from the warmth we've been wxperiencing the past couple of weeks. If you have outdoor plans this weekend, bring an umbrella or possibly reschedule; even though it won't be stormy, it will still be wet. Here are the details from the National Weather Service:
