A decent- sized thunderstorm moved over Chico this afternoon, bringing strong winds (gusts to 32 mph), heavy rain, enough pea- size hail to cover the ground (it looked like snow), and lots of thunder and lightning. The high temperature today in Chico was only 56 degrees, 29 degrees below average. And that was before the storm rolled through! The temperature dropped to 44 degrees after the storm, which is colder than the average low temp for this time of year (which is 48 degrees). There is still a chance for more showers and thunderstorms this evening before this weather system is finally done with us. Then get ready to enjoy an abundance of sunny, warm weather, particularly at the end of this week. A very weak system will move through tomorrow, keeping skies mostly cloudy and temps below normal. On Friday the warm, dry conditions will really begin, and will last through the middle of next week. Get out and enjoy!
