typical summer weather

This weekend has been rather pleasant in the Northstate, with valley highs averaging around 90 degrees both yesterday and today. This trend will continue, as highs the next several days will range from the low to mid 90s, and lows will be around 60 degrees. The averages for Chico for the beginning of August are 94 for the high and 61 for the low, so we'll be right in that neighborhood. Oh, my husband wanted me to mention the baby quail in our backyard. They are so adorable! Valley quail is the state bird of California, and they are numerous in my neck of the woods (even though I live in the foothills and not the valley). The baby quail are very cute, and my husband and I enjoy watching the quail parents herd their quail babies around as they forage for something to eat. Anyway, here's Chico's seven day forecast from the National Weather Service:

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 63. Southeast wind around 8 mph.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 93. Calm wind becoming south southeast between 4 and 7 mph.
