hotter weather coming

It was an absolutely stellar weekend weatherwise in Chico, with sunny skies, breezy winds from the south, and mild temperatures in the middle 80s. What was unusual this weekend was that marine fog drifted over Chico from the Delta both Saturday and Sunday mornings. We typically see fog in January, not July. Today continued the weather trend of highs reaching the mid 80s (currently it's 84 degrees in Chico). Enjoy it while it lasts, for the 90s return by mid- week. In fact, by early next week, we'll see highs into the mid and upper 90s, and possibly triple digit heat. Typical summer here in the Sacramento Valley. Here are the details from the National Weather Service:

Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 59. South southeast wind between 7 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph.
