not as hot as previously forecast

For at least the second time this summer, forecasters at the National Weather Service have moderated the temperature forecast. High temps were expected to be in the triple digits; now it looks like highs in the mid 90s will be more likely. Still hot, but not as hot as previously thought. Still, if doing outdoor activities this weekend, be mindful of the heat- drink plenty of water and take frequent breaks. Stay in the shade as much as possible. If hiking in the Sierra Nevada mountains this weekend, especially near Lake Tahoe, be aware of afternoon thunderstorm activity. If you hear thunder, lightning is likely nearby. Seek cover immediately! Lightning is one of the deadliest weather phenomena. Again, stay safe, and have a fun weekend! Here's the seven day forecast for Chico from the National Weather Service:
