triple digit heat returns

This morning's low temperature in Chico was 62 degrees, followed by a not so hot high of 89 degrees this afternoon. Normals for Chico for latter July are 61 for the low and 94 for the high. We had the benefit of the Delta breeze today, which shaved a few degrees off the high. Without the Delta breeze we could have seen highs in the mid 90s. In fact, that's where we're headed by mid-week, with triple digit heat by late week. Enjoy the comparatively cooll temps while they last, Chico! Here's the detailed seven day forecast from the National Weather Service:

Tonight: Clear, with a low around 61. East southeast wind between 3 and 6 mph.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 91. Calm wind becoming south between 4 and 7 mph.

Tuesday Night: Clear, with a low around 61. Southeast wind around 7 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 94. East wind at 6 mph becoming south.

Wednesday Night: Clear, with a low around 63. South southeast wind around 6 mph becoming east northeast.

Thursday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 100.

Thursday Night: Clear, with a low around 68.

Friday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 100.

Friday Night: Clear, with a low around 69.

Saturday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 98.

Saturday Night: Clear, with a low around 68.

Sunday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 96.

Sunday Night: Clear, with a low around 66.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 95.
