I'm sure residents back east are envious of us here out west as far as the weather goes. While many parts of the eastern U.S. have seen temps in the 20s and 30s with snow, Chico has seen temps in the mid 60s (63 degrees on Saturday; 64 degrees yesterday) and mainly sunny skies. The flowering and fruit- bearing trees are in bloom right now, and even the ash trees are leafing out- nearly a month early! I predict Chico will break 70 degrees for the first time this calendar year either today or tomorrow. As with all good things, however, this lovely spring-like weather won't last. By this weekend, a chance of showers enters back into the forecast and temps will only be in the lower 60s. That's actually where we should be this time of year. Perhaps a fairly strong storm will make its presence known to Northern California by early next week- we'll have to wait and see. For now, here's the detailed seven day forecast for Chico from the National Weather Service:
