Hard Freeze Warning

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SACRAMENTO HAS ISSUED A HARD
FREEZE WARNING FOR PORTIONS OF THE CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN SACRAMENTO
VALLEY...DELTA AND NORTHERN SAN JOAQUIN VALLEY...WHICH IS IN
EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 9 AM PST FRIDAY.

* TEMPERATURE: RANGE FROM 23 TO 27 IN MIDDLE AND EASTERN PORTIONS
OF VALLEY WITH 3 TO 5 HOURS BELOW 29 DEGREES. WESTERN EDGE OF
SACRAMENTO VALLEY AND DELTA ARE NOT LIKELY TO HAVE LONG ENOUGH
DURATION WITH COLD TEMPERATURES.

* LOCATIONS INCLUDE: AREAS WEST OF CHICO...MARYSVILLE...SACRAMENTO
AREA...STOCKTON...MODESTO

* IMPACTS: UNINSULATED PIPING COULD BURST DUE TO FREEZING WATER.
SENSITIVE VEGETATION COULD DIE DUE TO FROST.

A HARD FREEZE WARNING MEANS SUB-FREEZING TEMPERATURES ARE
IMMINENT OR HIGHLY LIKELY. THESE CONDITIONS WILL KILL CROPS AND
OTHER SENSITIVE VEGETATION. SHELTER ALL SENSITIVE ANIMALS OR PETS.
