Today wasn't as sunny as predicted, with mostly cloudy skies a good part of the day here in Chico. The high temperature did make it to 73 degrees, however, which is right about where we should be for the middle of April. Another storm system will begin to affect us tomorrow, with increasing southerly winds ahead of it and a chance for some light rain. The showers become steadier and more numerous tomorrow night and linger into Thursday. Right now forecast models are showing some rain affecting our weekend, but keep your fingers crossed that it won't happen. Here are the details for Chico from the National Weather Service:
Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 53. Southeast wind between 5 and 7 mph.
Wednesday: A 20 percent chance of showers after 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 66. South southeast wind 7 to 10 mph increasing to between 15 and 18 mph. Winds could gust as high as 23 mph. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Wednesday Night: Showers likely. Cloudy, with a low around 50. South southeast wind between 11 and 17 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Thursday: Showers likely, mainly before 11am. Partly sunny, with a high near 67. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 69.
