hot summer rolls on

It's been awhile since I last updated this blog, so let me catch up. The high temperatures for the last three days in Chico: Thursday's high was 93; Friday's high was 96; and today's high was 98. Expect tomorrow to be the hottest day of the next seven, as temperatures flirt with the triple digit mark. As hot as it's been here in the Sacramento Valley, it has been just as hot across the eastern U.S. In fact, it has felt hotter than here in places such as Richmond, Virginia, and Washington, DC. Those cities have recorded heat indexes of around 110 degrees today. Can you say oppressive? This heat is no laughing matter, and it looks like it will continue, albeit just a touch cooler than the past few days. Back here at home, temps will also moderate. We'll see highs next week into the middle 90s. Still hot, but not too much above normal (average high for Chico in late July is 94 degrees). Just keep thinking: Fall will be here before I know it...
