The weather has been very cool for this time of year over the past few days. Saturday's high temperature in Chico was 64 degrees; Sunday's high was 74 degrees; and today's high was 68 degrees. Rain (yes, rain) enters the weather picture tomorrow, with lingering showers expected through Friday. There's even a Winter Storm Warning for the southern Sierra Nevada mountains through Wednesday! I have a theory that the Iceland volcano is playing a part in our unusual weather. Some of the ash has been carried by the jet stream around the world and has blocked out some of the sun's rays, reducing the amount of normal sunlight and thus, resulting in cooler temps. Just a theory. We should be basking in summer weather, with sunny skies and temps in the mid 80s by late May. Instead, we're all wearing sweatshirts and long pants, even carrying umbrellas! When will summer finally get here? Here's the March-like forecast for Chico from the National Weather Service:
