weather feeling springlike

Happy first day of Spring! Today is the Vernal Equinox, in which there are approximately the same number of hours of daylight and darkness- about 12 hours for each. Of course, many locations in the Northern Hemisphere had about the same number of hours of daylight and darkness on St. Patrick's Day, but, you know, details. Anyway, in the Southern Hemisphere, today is the day of the Autumnal Equinox, or the first day of Autumn. In the Northern Hemisphere, the number of daylight hours will grow from here on out (until June), while in the Southern Hemisphere, the number of hours of daylight will shrink. Weather-wise here in Chico, the weather has definitely been feeling like Spring, with yesterday's high temperature at 76 under sunny skies and fairly light winds. Today through Monday will be nearly carbon copies of yesterday, with slight chances of a shower Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. Other than that, the drought marches on. Here's Chico's seven day forecast from the National Weather Service: Today Mostly sunny, with a high near 74. Calm wind becoming west northwest around 6 mph in the afternoon. Tonight Mostly clear, with a low around 45. Light and variable wind. Friday Sunny, with a high near 73. North northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the morning. Friday Night Mostly clear, with a low around 44. Light and variable wind. Saturday Sunny, with a high near 74. Light and variable wind. Saturday Night Mostly clear, with a low around 45. Sunday Sunny, with a high near 75. Sunday Night Clear, with a low around 47. Monday Sunny, with a high near 76. Monday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 48. Tuesday A slight chance of rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 69. Tuesday Night A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 47. Wednesday A chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 66.
