nice break from the heat

Well, the National Weather Service was correct with today's forecast- overcast all day, with a high temperature of just 71 degrees. That's 20 degrees below average for late August, as well as 39 degrees cooler than the high temperature of 110 degrees last Wednesday, August 25th. The cool weather turns mild for tomorrow, with more sunshine and a high right around 80 degrees. Gorgeous! It will continue to warm up over the next several days, but it will remain at or just slightly above average for this time of year. No major heat spells are on the horizon. My earlier prediction of a relatively cool summer has, for the most part, borne out. Maybe I should have become a meteorologist instead of a social worker!
