nice weather for the rest of this week

My thoughts and condolences go out to the victims and their families of the Oklahoma tornado. As of this blog posting, over 50 people have died from the tornado that tore through Moore, Oklahoma earlier today. What a tragedy. Closer to home, it has been heat we've been dealing with, along with dry and breezy conditions. The high temperature in Chico so far today has been 90 degrees, with gusty west to northwest winds over 20 mph. This should be the last hot day for at least a week as the Delta breeze kicks in overnight tonight. That will bring in cooler marine air from the south into the valley. The coolest days look to be Wednesday and Thursday, with highs only in the lower 70s! That's ten degrees below average! Windy conditions may set up on Wednesday, increasing the fire danger. Otherwise, the Memorial Day weekend looks great for outdoor activities. Here's Chico's detailed seven day forecast from the National Weather Service: Tonight Mostly clear, with a low around 59. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the evening. Tuesday Sunny, with a high near 81. Calm wind becoming west 5 to 9 mph. Tuesday Night Mostly clear, with a low around 46. South southeast wind 7 to 16 mph becoming north northwest after midnight. Wednesday Sunny, with a high near 72. North northwest wind 11 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Wednesday Night Mostly clear, with a low around 47. North wind around 11 mph. Thursday Mostly sunny, with a high near 72. Thursday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 50. Friday Mostly sunny, with a high near 77. Friday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 52. Saturday Mostly sunny, with a high near 80. Saturday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 54. Sunday Mostly sunny, with a high near 80. Sunday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 56. Memorial Day Mostly sunny, with a high near 81.
