wonderful weather

I tell ya, it doesn't get much better to have high temperatures in the 60s in January. That's exactly what we're going to get this week as a strong ridge of high pressure dominates California. Highs today will top out in the mid to upper 50s, then a string of 60+ degree days begins tomorrow. Sixty degree highs will last through this weekend (giving us a nice beginning to February). Lows will still be chilly (it IS still winter, you know), mainly in the mid 30s. There is no rain in the forecast, which is troubling. This seems to be the trend the past few years; we will get hammered in December with rain and storms, then hardly any rain in January (supposedly our wettest month on average), then get hammered again in February and March. We'll see if that trend holds this year. For now, enjoy spring in January! Here's Chico's seven day forecast from the National Weather Service: Today Mostly sunny, with a high near 56. Light north wind becoming north northwest 6 to 11 mph in the morning. Tonight Partly cloudy, with a low around 33. North wind 6 to 9 mph. Tuesday Sunny, with a high near 60. Calm wind becoming northwest around 6 mph in the afternoon. Tuesday Night Mostly clear, with a low around 34. Light and variable wind. Wednesday Sunny, with a high near 63. North northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the morning. Wednesday Night Clear, with a low around 36. Thursday Sunny, with a high near 64. Thursday Night Patchy fog after 4am. Otherwise, clear, with a low around 36. Friday Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 64. Friday Night Mostly clear, with a low around 35. Saturday Mostly sunny, with a high near 62. Saturday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 36. Sunday Mostly sunny, with a high near 62.
