our first heat spell of the year

It won't officially be a "heat wave," in which temperatures are above 95 degrees for three or more days in a row, but it'll be close. Temperatures will get into the upper 90s this weekend before cooling down into the upper 80s by early next week. Until the weekend, temps will hover around 90 degrees with sunny skies. Low temps will be comfortable- around 60 degrees. This morning has been fairly warm and humid (for Chico standards). Humidity levels have ranged between 75-80%, and the low in Chico this morning was only 67 degrees (normal low is around 59). The cloud cover that moved in last evening has stuck around this morning, acting as a blanket and keeping the temps fairly warm. Those clouds should move out by mid-morning, and we will enjoy some sunshine the rest of today. The Chico Outlaws, our beloved semi-professional baseball team, take on Edmonton (Canada) tonight at Nettleton Stadium. Gametime temperatures should be in the mid to upper 80s, then cool into the 70s by the end of the game. Enjoy the day!
