Today was very chilly and unsettled in the Chico area. High temps were stuck in the low to mid 50s, and a thunderstorm brought hail and heavy rain to Chico (and snow to the foothills) earlier this afternoon. It snowed briefly at my house, but there was no accumulation as the ground was too warm. Expect much of this upcoming week to be unsettled and chillier than normal. This weather is more reminiscent of February than March. We may have a repeat of last year, in which a mild winter was followed by a chilly, wet spring. We'll have to see. Here is Chico's seven day forecast from the National Weather Service:
