rain in the forecast

After another beautiful day in Chico (sunny skies and a nice high temperature of 77 degrees), Monday looks wet and breezy. A potent storm system will move in from the Pacific Ocean tomorrow, bringing with it light to occasionally moderate rain and winds around 15 to 20 mph. Rain tapers to showers tomorrow evening, and the beautiful fall weather returns midweek. Here's the detailed seven day forecast for Chico from the National Weather Service:

Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 53. Southeast wind between 5 and 8 mph.

Columbus Day: Rain likely, mainly after 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 68. South southeast wind between 5 and 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Monday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 54. Southeast wind between 10 and 13 mph. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 75. South southeast wind around 6 mph.

Tuesday Night: Clear, with a low around 52. Calm wind becoming north between 4 and 7 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 81.

Wednesday Night: Clear, with a low around 53.
