Winter Storm Warning for foothill communities
This includes Paradise, Magalia, and Forest Ranch residents:
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SACRAMENTO HAS ISSUED A WINTER
STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW AND/OR BLOWING SNOW...WHICH IS IN
EFFECT FROM 4 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 4 PM PST FRIDAY. THE WINTER
STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.
* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS: 8 TO 16 INCHES.
* SNOW LEVELS: SNOW LEVELS WILL INITIALLY BE 1000 TO 2000 FEET
TODAY THEN GRADUALLY RISE TO 3000 FEET BY FRIDAY AFTERNOON.
* TIMING: SNOW WILL BEGIN THIS AFTERNOON WITH PERIODS OF MODERATE TO
HEAVY SNOWFALL THROUGH FRIDAY AFTERNOON.
* LOCATIONS INCLUDE: PARADISE AND AREA HIGHWAYS.
* WINDS: SOUTHEAST 10 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 35 MPH.
* IMPACTS: SNOW WILL LIKELY IMPACT TRAVEL ON AREA ROADS AND
HIGHWAYS. CHAIN REQUIREMENTS ARE LIKELY.
