a chance of rain for Memorial Day?

Might you be dodging some raindrops during your barbeque on Monday? Perhaps, as there is a slight chance of showers for Memorial Day. This is due to a weak trough of low pressure moving in from the Pacific Ocean. Meanwhile, cooler air has settled in to the Northstate, and I read on the National Weather Service's website that below average temperatures will stick around for the next two weeks! The average high temp for late May is 83/84 degrees, so expect highs to be below that for awhile. Look for sunny skies and calmer winds today through Sunday, as pleasant weather is expected for most of this holiday weekend. It should be beautiful weather for Chico State graduates and their families this weekend, as it is graduation weekend in Chico. Graduate students will be honored Friday night indoors at Laxson Auditorium, while undergraduates will have their ceremonies outdoors Saturday and Sunday at University Stadium.
