THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SACRAMENTO HAS ISSUED A FROST
ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 3 AM TO 8 AM PDT THURSDAY.
* TEMPERATURE...CLEAR SKIES AND CALM WINDS WILL ALLOW TEMPERATURES
TO DROP TO NEAR FREEZING OVER PORTIONS OF THE CENTRAL SACRAMENTO
VALLEY TONIGHT...ESPECIALLY FOR LOWER ELEVATIONS WEST OF HIGHWAY 99.
* IMPACTS...TEMPERATURES NEAR FREEZING MAY BE HARMFUL TO PLANTS
AND LIVESTOCK. PLANTS MAY FORM FROST EVEN WHEN THE AIR
TEMPERATURE DOES NOT REACH FREEZING...AND FROST CAN FORM FROM
MOISTURE WITHIN PLANTS WHICH IS ESPECIALLY HARMFUL.
***UPDATE***
The Frost Advisory has been cancelled as I type this at 4 am Thursday. The clouds associated with the next storm moving in, combined with mild southerly winds, have prevented temperatures from dropping. Currently in Chico the temperature is 59 degrees. A little too warm for frost to form!
