the heat is on
With apologies to Glen Frey. The heat is on, as the high temperature in Chico today reached 100 degrees. Triple digit heat will rule the next five days, with Friday being the hottest day. High temps Friday will range between 105-110 in some parts of the Sacramento Valley. We should cool (cool being a relative term) by early next week as temps dip below 100 degrees next Tuesday through Thursday. Overnight lows won't cool off that much, either- mainly in the mid 60s to low 70s through the period. Here is Chico's specific seven day forecast from the National Weather Service:
Tonight Mostly clear, with a low around 67. Calm wind becoming northeast around 5 mph.
Thursday Sunny and hot, with a high near 102. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph.
