getting warmer
The past two days in Chico have been fairly typical of what one may encounter for late August- sunny skies and highs in the lower to middle 90s. Those pesky wildfires burning to the northwest and northeast of Chico will give us some smoky, hazy conditions the next few days as daytime temps warm into the middle 90s. A front will pass through the area late this week, bringing no rainfall to the valley but cooling temps down into the 80s both Friday and Saturday. However, highs will warm back into the 90s for Labor Day and the early part of next work (and school) week. Here is Chico's seven day forecast from the National Weather Service:
Today Areas of smoke after 11am. Sunny, with a high near 95. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming light and variable in the afternoon.
Tonight Clear, with a low around 58. South southwest wind around 6 mph becoming light and variable.
